I have a special place in my heart for proposal photography, and Li Kian and Fang Ching Chan’s special moment was a truly beautiful one. Li Kian contacted me looking for a proposal photographer who could help him to capture the moment when he asked his girlfriend Fang Chin to marry him. He had set his heart on a truly unique location on the island for this milestone moment in his life – the village of Oia. It’s easy to see why Oia is such a popular choice for wedding proposals. This village is straight out of a fairy tale with its traditional white houses, winding narrow streets, distinctive blue domes and amazing sea views. His soon-to-be-bride had absolutely no idea about this secret marriage proposal, and I was looking forward to seeing her surprise when the moment finally arrived. Before finally popping the question in Oia, we took some lovely pictures around the local area. When we reached the top of the hill, away from the crowds of tourists that flock to this popular village, Li Kian got down on one knee and asked the all-important question. Of course, his beautiful girlfriend said yes – how could she refuse such a romantic proposal in such a stunning location? Afterwards, we took the opportunity to capture the couple’s happiness with some natural professional shots. Of course, we couldn’t miss the famous blue domed churches from their Santorini engagement photo shoot! I made sure that they featured as a gorgeous backdrop to this memorable experience. It was such a privilege to be part of such a wonderful moment, and to help this happy couple to capture such precious memories forever.
