Pop the question in Oia
Popping the question is a very important moment in the life of a man. Also, proposing on vacation is so romantic, just like a fairytale. Santorini has so many spots to propose marriage. These include top wedding venues like Dana Villas, Canaves Oia Suites, private dinners at restaurants and outdoor locations like the heart rock in Megalochori. I have to admit that they are all excellent choices.
How it happened
This shoot was very dear to my heart! Li Kian was looking for a different location to ask him his girlfriend Fang Chin to marry him. His favorite place was Oia village, a place straight out of the fairy-tale dreams. Oia is a traditional Greek settlement with white houses, narrow streets and amazing seaviews. The soon to be bride, Miss Fang Ching Chan had no idea about the secretly well planned proposal. Before popping the question, we took some lovely pictures at the area around the spot. At the suburbs of this wonderful village, at the top of the hill and away from the tourist crowds, the handsome gentleman got down on one knee and told the loveliest words to his future to be wife. There was no chance she could say No… Li Kian got a really big hug after his surprise proposal. After she said yes, we got to take even more professional, yet natural pictures.
Asians use umbrella as sun shield. It’s all about protecting and keeping their white skin color. They also have a strong sense of family and sharing. If the umbrella is big enough, they love to share it with their spouse or children to protect them from the strong sun. Fang Chin’s umbrella was not only a symbol of culture, but also a lovely prop to the photo shoot.
The famous blue domed churches couldn’t be missed from the photography shoot! The Malaysian couple was very cooperative and very relaxed when we were taking their pictures. Me and my professional team had a blast with them! We all loved being part of such a wonderful moment and capturing these memories forever. The outcome was some outstanding engagement pictures!
Lot’s of Love,
