Mykonos Wedding Photography
An ideal island with endless photographic opportunities
Mykonos is the Greek island that never disappoints. In recent years, it has been repeatedly awarded from TripAdvisor as one of the best destinations anywhere on the planet for newlyweds or honeymooners. The wedding venues are luxurious, the hotel services are top-notch, and the beaches are truly breathtaking. Not to mention its lively nightlife.
The Myconian island has kept the traditional style of whitewashed houses. What’s more, the pedestrianized pathways, the traditional marina and the castle make it easy to get lost in time and in place. Thankfully, the island is very close to Santorini where I am based, and this makes Mykonos pre-wedding planning very easy.
The boat trip from Santorini to Mykonos port is only a 2-hour sail (just enough time to watch a Netflix movie!) There’s no need for any airport layovers with their endless delays and lost luggage. Simply hop onto the next high-speed ferry, and paradise is just a short hop away!
The Mykonos Pre Wedding Photo Shoot – Katherine and Alfred’s Story
Katherine and Alfred are a lovely couple of Hong Kong who recently booked an all-inclusive dream photoshoot package in Mykonos.
We arrived at the port early in the morning along with the makeup artist and hairstylist the day before the shoot, so I had plenty of time to scout out the perfect location. Even though I have visited Mykonos many times, I always arrive at my destination well in advance. This allows me to familiarize myself with the light. Moreover, it enables me to discover new photographic opportunities and explore some of the most Instagrammable places on Mykonos.
We stayed at the Belvedere Hotel, a popular choice with wedding couples. This luxury hotel is very close to the city center, as well as my favorite Italian restaurant, Pasta Fresca Barkia. Since the island is a very popular destination with tourists from all over the world, we began the pre wedding photography session early in the morning to beat the crowds. The professional makeup artist arrived at 06:30 am to make sure that Katherine was looking her very best. It took her around 2 hours to prepare the bride for her photo shoot, so I met the soon to be married couple at 08:30 am.
The photoshoot ran very smoothly. Alfred and Katherine were amazingly happy and cooperative, and the wedding pictures turned out to be truly fantastic!
